Cyber Love Can Cause Pain in Heart?

We all know that in the early of 21th century high technology as like internet provide facilities for people to connect with others around the world. They can meet one another in chat room, for sharing ideas. But from this activity, they tend to talk not only about good things but also about love matters and more than that they can touch "annoying and abusing" topic. They found themselves falling in love, and they engaged in Cyber romance. Through electronic contact they can build private relationship, even though they are separated one another by many miles away. Unfortunately, many relationship should end up with sadness and heart ache due to some reason.
Mostly people wondered, how can people engage in Cyber Love finally suffered from heart ache and pain? They think it is so naive and illogical...But it is the fact and truly happened. In chat line they meet then they talk and share about everything. Dominated in their mind by lots of imaginative things, they involved their heart feeling while chatting. For the initial moment, mostly males enjoyed all as something serious as well, but suddenly they realize that they will be stupid if doing so. Their logic soon be awakened, so they become more realistic, otherwise their partners (females) stay and stand on their "fixed positions", they hardly release their faked and imaginative love. They trust that their hearts have been truly captured and they should stay there with "sincere love". So tragic, but mostly women have been the victims of faked cyber love.
Of course, it is so hard to heal the painful heart. They get depressed for unreasonable things. Guys and women engaged in similar circumstances but ironically women get great loss due to they sacrifice their feeling. They are powerless after getting trapped, and often they realize it too late.

Actually many people who do not know well about cyber relationship never thinking that finally if the relation ends up, nothing left, except sadness, pain, and disappointment...as terrible as what happened in real life...In this case. we should learn from others' experiences and it' s better to have more awareness for preventing ourselves to get trapped and being deceived. We only know our partner from meeting and chatting electronically, and we can not recognize their real personality. It might be they hide anything perfectly and perform as if they are good guys.

The women should open their eyes, no need to be so sensitive, they must learn from others' experiences. Many guys often use them as the "objects" of their imagination. If necessary, they can use many tricks or maybe also deceitful things to get their goals, bad or right ones? Just increase our consciousness that no need to take seriously what happened on cyber world. We can also get many advices regarding this case by reading many articles from appropriate websites. If they can use females as their objects..why we can not do the same things? We can get benefit by chatting with them, we redirect them to the good and valuable topics...and by doing this we can enrich our knowledge, sharpen our brain. make us more intelligent and so on.

Best way for the women to at least minimize the unwanted effect that may come in this relationship, they can give some bargaining to the men, by giving them "an option", if they want to chat with us, they must fulfill our "rule of the game". Just a simply thing to use them as our "co-worker", if they can not stand with certain "requirement" just let them go away. We can get another ones who can be good friends and be unselfish ones....Do not think that women are always powerless and have no bargaining power. As human-being we also have the same brain, just empowering this for getting the same position and grade as like another guys. So we can be wonderful women which no one can hurt n insult us anymore. Show to the World that no reason to underestimate and insult women because we are equal to men.

"Foolish" Relationship on Internet?

Recently, many people can connect with another ones who live from the same country or from abroad by chatting on Facebook, Google talk, Yahoo Messenger or maybe on another chat room. I have experienced in this with many friends from various country, Maroco, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and another country which I can not mention one by one. From the beginning, I just want to improve my English and knowledge by sharing ideas with them, but somehow the topic of our discussion started to get biased, touched the "awkward" matters. Talking about love and anything related to that. I could be tolerable with what my partner in chatting wanted at that time, due to my desire in improving English. I thought it was a "normal" exchange, if they wanted to talk about it because they are males. The most important thing for me, I could have partner for being more knowledgeable and being more excellent in English. Be honest, I felt being so crazy with English, and I thought it could be so precious chance for getting free online English course. I could speak with them as well. Times went by, and I got a bit bored with talking about the love matters and anything related with it. I often fought with them due to boredom and misunderstanding, and mostly ended up with broken relationship.
A few days ago, my friend on internet, a girl from abroad, told me that she got heart ache due to his Boy friend on net left her for some reason and did not want to talk with her anymore. She felt so hurt and lonely. She has got along with him for more than one year, and finally their relationship has been broken up. Nothing left, only pain and sadness. It might be very stupid and foolish thing but it s the fact. Anyone can be broken hearted after having "very strange" relationship. Something absurd can be happened everywhere not only in real life but also in Cyber world. How come and Why? That is because of they have involved in this kind of relation with all of their heart, if it s analogous to the activity of diving...they re diving too deep, and finally they sink. They should not take it so seriously, or if they want to dive, they should stay on the surface, by doing this, they will never sink. Mostly guys (males) do not consider all kind of relationships on internet as anything seriously, so they never feel hurt with whatever happened, the relation will be ruined or not they never mind. Otherwise for mostly females, due to their soft feelings, n they rarely use their logic, they become so easily being hurtful. That is the significant difference between male and females regarding the "Foolish and strange" relationship on internet.
By analysing many experiences, we should learn from those. We must get benefit from Cyber world and just avoid for getting great loss. People who get heart ache after having "foolish" relationship, it means they get great loss because they sacrifice their feeling only for something in vain. If people want to chat, and share ideas with many friends around the world, just make it as something fun, no need to involve our heart and feeling with something unreal and imaginative. Our partner in chatting s real existing but we only connect them from Cyber world, why we must consider them as if they truly come in our real life......so sad but it s true...:(

Divorce, the Worst Solution?

In a criminal case you see bad people at their best, in a divorce case you see nice people at their worst (Divorcenet.com).
No one knows what will happen in the future. And for the married couples who have been bounded in marriage, they never wish one day they would break their marriage commitment by getting divorced. There is opinion that the way to get divorced is the worst choice, and many people think that the couples who choose this way should be the selfish ones, because they ignore the children factor. Whatever it is, we can not judge them only with one side of view point.
Related to the divorce, I will tell short story in this article. My neighbor, a Mom with 2 kids, feels so frustrated with her husband that for several months being jobless. He stayed at home and did not earn money after he was job layoff. Fortunately, she works as an assistant of the doctor, and get some money for their children and for fulfill the need of monthly grocery. The jobless husband did not realize that he s a useless guy, even he became bad guy, get drunk, and back home in the night with bad behavior.
The wife was so stressful, she said that she s forced to keep living together in one house, with frequently disagreement with her husband. Conflict between them full of screaming, yelling with careless words. This bad situation in their household being the hell, and that should not be conducive at all for their children. The kids could learn everything from all what they see and they hear. The terrible situation could effect negatively for the mental development of the kids. Domestic violence, verbal or non verbal one, certainly will be something destructive for the kids' psychological development.
After thinking many times and asking advices from marriage counselor, she has only one option, getting divorce. In this case, i think we should be wise to evaluate for giving any adjustments. Is that the worst solution? Is that showing the selfishness? It might not be like that. She should decide the best way among the worst option. And she did that only for saving her children. She does not want her kids are in the uncertainty situation, and living in the bad atmosphere where there are full of conflicts. Being single parent, she wants doing the best for her kids. It seems she becomes wonderful Mom....!

Certainly I do not agree with what are said in the quote above. The anonymous quote shows us, that it seems love is so painful.When somebody falls in love with another else, it begins with anything joyful, smiling, then kissing, but it ends up with anything painful, screaming, disappointment, suffering and crying in sadness. I do admit that real or true love could not be like that. True love is a very meaningful feeling, in which it could make us live happily ever after with our partner, far away from distasteful things, free of fear, depression, anger and disappointment. We could share each other either in joyful moment or in sadness moment, and we could not be separated in every moment of life. So wonderful and so amazing if we found true love. True love always faces its challenges but it could be well overcome. We passed together the bitterness in life and we finally could get it out, with the power of love.
I want to share the story of my friend's trouble in her marriage relationship. This article is meant to enrich our experience and it maybe opens our mindset that loves always need to be proved, after facing a lots of challenges. Let's talk frankly, it is not easy to get over the betrayal of our partner. Pain of betrayal may lasts a lifetime. It takes times to heal the harmful feeling caused by betrayal. We get ourselves in anger, disappointment, brokenhearted feeling. It seems we lost our self-confidence, even our spirit to survive disappeared. Sometimes, we lost our self-control of emotion, hoping the World not go round anymore. So hopeless.

I suggested my friend who has been betrayed by her husband to talk soon heart by heart to him. It is useless if she was too long to stay in sadness. The husband has promised to her to get back in her side, and showed his guilty feeling. He tried to improve himself, leafing the woman with whom he was involved in love affair, please try to trust him and it is better to give him one more chance.
It is not actually a simple thing for us to forgive someone who has hurt us. But forgiveness is the best way to get easily ability to rebuild mutual trust that has been ruined. I asked her to read the guidance book "La Tahzan" in which it contains many excellent advices, including how God the Almighty always forgives His People who make mistakes. Many valuable moral lessons helped her significantly being stronger and wiser. Hence, if she decided to forgive her husband, she might not looking at what all happened in the past, she need to look forward. It is necessary to focus on their children future, and ignored her selfishness. Considering the children as the priority in her life.
She become wiser when she realize that nobody's perfect, and nobody can do no wrong. She is simply inspired by that all containing in the wonderful book "La Tahzan". The spirit of her life awaken day by day. She become stronger and feel better when she could overcome well all the bitterness in the life.

Without forgiveness many relationships would never proceed to reach the heights they have reached. Forgiveness come with realization that we are all human at the same point in our lives, we are going to make mistakes. At that time she cried in sadness everyday, she could be depressed and the children became another victims of that. It is not wise if she sacrificed her children to be involved in the parents' conflict. After sharing her feeling by telling the problem to several persons she trust, and reading the book I gave, she could relieve her pain. She opened the heart to her husband by giving him forgiveness. Eventually, forgiveness might be the best medicine to heal the harmful feeling. The recovery of a brokenhearted feeling is on your own responsibility, the other ones only could support and motivate yourself. But healing your harmful feeling, it depends absolutely on yourself.

I am not a marriage counselor, but many of my friends often come to me for sharing the problems in their marriage. One of them, a mom with two children, at the the age of 10 and 5. She told me with the deep of sadness, "I really love my husband as much as I trust him. I have never been suspicious on him before, I let him connecting to all his friends, whether men or women. I welcome with all of them. Until one day, without wanting to interfere his privacy, I found short message in his cell phone, certainly from a woman that I knew well. She asked my husband for a secret date. I was so shocked and fell so hurt. Incredible but it was really true. It seemed I got a horrible nightmare".

The story of my friend might be reference for us to expand our perspective regarding marriage relationship and its problems within. The essence of loving relationship is actually mutual trust. Trust from both couple. But we should not suppose that mutual trust is identically with giving big opportunity and freedom to our spouse in connecting many people. It will be too risky. Do not let our partner to hang out freely with all of his (or her) friends.

It takes many times to build mutual trust. And for creating the "qualified" trust we need mutual self-control. Based on that, both couple would realize that they have been in marriage commitment, and that is why they must be on the right track, by staying in fidelity.
In fact, most married people, will be vulnerable to be involved in betrayal whenever there are available big chance to do that. Hence, never let your partner to connect to various people without mutual self-control. In the case of my friend, she never thought that giving big chance for her husband and tolerable with all he did, is the big mistake. It triggers to a betrayal, love affair with other woman.

No Wonder that a man and a woman could fall in love each other at the first sight. Attractive person with good-looking in physic being one of many interesting factors. But I do convince that most individuals get easily disappointed whenever a person with a very good-looking has bad personality. That is true if we are always considered as someone attractive in the viewpoint of our partner.

You do not love a woman because she is beautiful but she is beautiful because you love her (Unknown Quotes). This quote remains me how I could finally in love with a guy, that is not too good-looking but he has great personality. He shows me that he has real love for me. He is not a guy with lots of romantic words, but just to prove his love in action. Action is certainly more valuable than words. Action has always its rewards.

The true and real love of a guy who loves me very much -- to whom I get married -- could open up my mind and my heart. I am proud to be loved and to be also the priority in his heart, in his life. A woman just need to be loved by a man. Unfortunately, in the first years of my marriage I found any troubles associated with several persons around me that said something bad about my beloved husband. Be honest, I am not a woman with the heart of gold, I was so upset whenever they said I marry wrong guy. They thought my husband did not have "good taste" in fashion, bad-clothing, and bad manner.

It was actually not serious problem, but so disturbing in our relationship. However I was not wise if I decided to break up my loving relationship because of a very simple thing. Great People, Great Personality

Going abroad in 2002, became the first amazing experience of my long journey. Landing in John F. Kennedy, New York International airport, I got little shocked because of very stricted bureaucracy of the JFK airport immigration officer. It's a logic consequence, the United States Govt did not want to take any risk of security after the tragedy of World Trade Center bombing.

A little of anxiety disappeared whenever I discovered very memorable experience of local customs, culture, delicious products of food, tallest buildings with ultra-modern architecture, and many more. It's happened on me such as culture-shocked.

Visiting United Nations Building, and then Empire States Building that is considered as one of the highest skyscraper building in the World, it would be so amazing. Traveling to another states, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Orlando brought me to satisfaction of journey. It took me to sophisticated modern cities, dozens of family attractions, restaurants, modern hotels and shops. It is very interesting itinerary and unforgettable trip.

I do not want to talk about the United States Govt's foreign policy, such as the political statement of the Former president George W Bush that sometimes lead to controversy in World community. I am not concerned at all about political issues. I am deeply appreciated in American civilians that according to my opinion, most of them have great personality. As a visitor, I recognized them as warm and nice people. At that time when going walk in Mall, I almost fell because of slippery floor, immediately a very gentle man came toward me and said: "Are you okey?". I was so impressed with him. He is a man with respectable behavior. It shows he has valuable ethics.
Another day, I lost my way and I asked for help to someone I met. With pleasure he showed me the way to return to my hotel. It is an excellent example that we have to follow and should not be ignored. I get many ethics lessons after traveling to USA. It opens my eyes that many civilians of USA could be great people, with ability to empathize and take care about anyone else's circumstances.

We can draw something good from this ethics lesson, it might be best reference for "what to do" whenever we meet foreigners. I have taken an educational trip by bringing home very nice souvenirs. The valuable ethics are undeniably impressive in my viewpoint.

The cynical opinion about selfishness of western people, I think it is unfair adjustment. Western people might be concerned very much in others' privacy, but it does not mean they are selfish or anti-social. Great people with great personality, we could be also like them..

It is too hard to say Thank you..Why?

As usual, every morning we wake up and realize we still breathe. God still gives us the opportunity to enjoy life and go on living. Expression of thanks to God, or in the other word, to be grateful to Him, is a must for us as human-being. Breathing, is just like a very simple thing, but without God 's blessings, certainly we can not breathe freely. It is so priceless, and hence it is worthy to all of us to be grateful to God, the Almighty.

Once again, breathing, it seems like something trivial, and sometimes we can not acknowledge what it is a very priceless wealth. Health is the best wealth, we knew it. Letting us reflect this. There are a lot of sicks hospitalized, they often can not breathe freely, need oxygen from respiratory aids. Perhaps it requires a big amount of funds. If we are in good health, we have not to pay to God for breathing. It is so amazing! It is unreasonable if we deny all that God has given to all of us.

In social life, whenever we interact with others, we also often receive many aids or helps from friends or neighbors. However, is it too hard to say thank you to them? Then, why? To say Thank you to others, it does not need money to do that. So wondered if certain people have any "handicaps" just doing that very simple thing. It might be they are real arrogant, so they like underestimate to another. We acknowledge that there are also many uneducated people, so they did not know about ethics. Politeness and other ethics lost its value, anyway.

We ever go to supermarket and sometimes we had been little disappointed whenever we are not well served by employees or cashiers. It is too hard for them to say thank you. They did not give any satisfactions to buyers or customers. Certainly, in the other time, we do not want be back to shop there. We are not well impressed because of that.

Today the values of ethics, as like politeness, and other good manner or attitude have been greatly reduced and might be ignored by the current generations. Whatever its reason, it is hard to say Thank you, that manner is absolutely unrespectable.

Basically, everyone wants to be well appreciated by another. But if we want that, we should first do the same thing to others. The bad manner, as like too hard to say thank you, should not been highly recommended in friendship, neighborhood, or other kinds of people socializing. It indicates worst personality. The wise people always do small thing with great value. Just a simple thing to do. We should easily say Thank you to others who give us help or attention. Getting start to do that from now on.....

Blogging, My Enjoyable Activity

Most people do their jobs for earning money, no hesitation about it. Getting paid is the most reasonable thing for us to be a worker, unless this field for social activity. As a beginner in writing or blogging, I try to work hard become a good writer. I get lucky, I am surrounded by good friends who awaken my spirit become a blogger. But I also motivate myself by learning more, browsing to many websites in order to be more knowledgeable.
Previously, I want to find out what professional writers' suggestions for the beginners. Sharon Hurley Hall, a freelancer said, "In addition to writing or blogging I also spend my time reading blogs, maintaining my sites, checking out new advertisers, researching and promoting our sites or blog posts. All suggestions make me more interesting in writing. I never let many ideas slip out from my minds, and try to write it down into articles. I spend 8-9 hours in front my laptop, but I realize that English is the first obstacle I face, because this is not my mother tongue.
Each person could empower himself by great talent he has. For most beginners in writing, the problem actually to get start. It seems too difficult to start in blogging but it is easier for the next steps. If you have started to blog, it is easier to continue. It is just like whenever people try to ride bicycle, previously, he often falls down, but if he starts to try again and again, he could be in balance and finally he has no obstacle anymore.
Most academics do not face significantly handicaps and they are able to immediately write down their thoughts into article. It is different with them, I find many difficulties, but I have no reason to give up. Nowadays, I only create two articles a month. I hope I will be a good and productive blogger. I do not deny that I want someday to get paid of this work. Money is the most important instrument for living cost, it might be for monthly groceries or other human being need of life. Eventhough, I do not get yet paid from this work, I think this is my interesting and enjoyable activity. I get big satisfaction whenever I could write down many thoughts of my mind. Maybe I get a such of chatarsis. We have been so famiiar with William Shakespeare quotes: "What's in a name". The Masterpiece of playwright William Shakespeare is Romeo and Juliet. The tragic romance story of two young who loves each other but they could not transcend easily the difference background of their family.
Romeo and Juliet are doomed from the start as members of two warring families. As we know, all parents named their children with good and meaningful name. Certainly they do that with great expectation for their generations. The parents hope their children would be a good and useful person. In business, the name of a certain product could effect significantly to the public trust. In the term of business, it is called branding. This is the most important thing for getting trust of public, and producers expect it will be marketable and prospective.
In my personal life, my parents named me with, according to most of my friends, a very unique one. I am so wondered, whenever I met new friends, they always ask me a strange question: "Where are you from? Your name is so unique..?". Then, I am very curious to know how many people who has the same name with mine.. I want to find out by searching in Facebook. The Results of my searching make me surprised..there are 152 persons come from many countries whose name are the same with mine. For exemple, a young girl from United States named Bianca Pipien Jackson. A man from French, Jean-Louis Pipien. A woman from French, Francise Pipien. Sven Pipien, is a musician best-known from Hannover Germany. And many others which I could not tell one by one in this site.
However, I believe that my parents give me a good name, certainly a meaningful and hopeful one. I must be proud and thankful with this. I have responsibility to realise good expectation of my parents. Now I want to be a good blogger, by hoping someday I will be a productive writer. I must get best chance to big success...Why not?

It's time to Promote Peace and Love

People around the World actually have so many differences: race, religion, gender, culture, nationality, etc. but however,we should realize that mankind is one. The difference backgrounds must not be considered as sensitives issues which sometimes lead to ethnic or social conflicts.
As we know recently, all over the world, natural disasters such as: earthquake, hurricane, volcanic eruption, floods etc. could be happened everywhere and everytime. The disasters can destroy a lot of buildings and also make many people died and injured.
In one side countless human-being became victims of natural disasters, and in other side million people have been killed in war and armed conflicts. These terrible events cause incalculable human sufferings.
Conflict since 1990, causing for million deaths, about 90 per cent of them civilians, and 80 per cent women and children (source: UN Conference brochure, 2001). The World leaders must be in unity of principle to promote peace on the earth and prevent war for people and environments sustainability.
There are so many ways to promote love and peace in the world. Musicians or music composers often promote peace and love through their lyrics and musics. As said and sang a long time ago by the great John Lennon (musician of the Beatles), give peace a chance! John Lennon said: if someone thinks that love and peace is cliche that must have been left behind...imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I am dreamer, but I'm not only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one.
One of the best ways for reinforcing peace on the earth is to promote love among the people come from different countries for avoiding disagreement and hate. Act right now to practice peace in real life by setting our open mindedness. We create general tolerance, respect and admiration for people whose customs and beliefs are different from our own. It can contribute very much in creating peace all over the world.
It's time to stop war and armed conflicts for a better life. We have no reason to support any kinds of violences. We certainly find someday the world will be in harmony and in unity...

Jalan-jalan gratis ke Amerika

Pada thn 2001, aku mulai belajar menggunakan internet, dari browsing sampai membuat dan mengirim e-mail. Waktu itu pengguna internet belum terlalu banyak. Aku mengakses internet dari sebuah warnet yang ada di kotaku. Jumlah warnet pun waktu itu belum sebanyak sekarang. Hanya ada satu, dua warnet saja.

Tahun 2002, dari seorang saudara aku meperoleh informasi bahwa Radio Suara Amerika ( Voice of America/ VOA) mengadakan kontes, salah satunya kontes E-mail Direct. Akupun mendaftar dan mengirim E-mail ke VOA. Yang membuat aku tertarik mengikuti kontes tersebut karena hadiah grand-prize nya sangat menggiurkan, yakni mendapat kesempatan untuk jalan-jalan gratis ke Amerika, semua transportasi dan akomodasi ditanggung oleh pihak VOA.

Meskipun “excited” mengikuti kontes itu, namun aku tak terlalu berharap untuk menjadi salah seorang pemenang, mengingat banyaknya orang yang mengikuti kontes itu. Aku menganut prinsip “nothing to loose” aja, jadi tidak terlalu obsesif.

Suatu pagi, kira-kira jam 4.30 dini hari, di bulan Juni 2002, aku terbangun oleh dering suara telepon. Tak disangka aku mendapat telepon dari VOA yang memberitahu bahwa aku keluar sebagai salah seorang pememang kontes, dan memperoleh grand – prize, jalan-jalan gratis ke Amerika dengan seorang teman/ pasangan. YaAllah, aku benar-benar kaget, antara percaya atau tidak. Unbelievable! Sama sekali tak disangka kalau aku akan mendapat kesempatan untuk menginjak Negara Uncle Sam, yang selama ini hanyalah merupakan sebuah mimpi. Amerika Serikat, sebuah Negara yang dikenal sebagai Negara Adi Kuasa, yang secara geografis memang sangat jauh dari Indonesia…Apalagi suamiku yang seorang Pegawai Negeri Sipil, rasanya tak mungkin bisa menyisihkan sisa belanja bulanan untuk traveling ke AS.Traveling ke luar negeri, apalagi ke AS, merupakan sebuah kemewahan yang tak pernah terlintas dibenak untuk mewujudkannya. Tapi siapa yang bisa menolak kuasa Allah? Ini adalah ‘miracle’ dari-Nya untuk diriku.

Batik, one of The World Cultural Heritage

In Octobre 2, 2009, The UNESCO has declared that Batik – one of Indonesian’s traditional Arts – as one of the World Cultural Heritage. This achievement could be a pride for us, Indonesian people.

In fact, Indonesia has so many arts and cultural products, that’s why we must keep them well and it is necessary to anticipate any kinds of “worst possibilities” in order the other countries wouldn’t claim as their owner…

Justin Peyton, mualaf dari Philadelphia

Namaku, Justin Peyton, 29 tahun, warga kulit hitam Amerika (African American) dari Philadelphia, Pensylvania. Aku dibesarkan dengan penuh kasih sayang dalam sebuah keluarga dari kelas menengah.
Meski aku tercatat sebagai orang kristani, namun secara praktik tak pernah mengikuti acara kegiatan gereja secara rutin, seperti misa minggu. Satu-satunya kegiatan 'religius' di keluarga kami hanyalah merayakan natal.
Aku benar-benar bersyukur karena keluargaku memiliki keterbukaan pandangan (open minded), orang tuaku berwawasan luas, saling menghormati dan menghargai keyakinan dan pandangan hidup yang berbeda dengan keluarga kami. Kondisi ini yang memberikan kontribusi besar pada penerimaanku terhadap nilai-nilai Islam di kemudian hari.
Meskipun banyak media massa Amerika yang memberikan opini kurang baik terhadap Islam dan komunitas Muslim, namun kenyataan ini tak menyurutkan minatku untuk mempelajari Islam. Aku mulai bergaul dan mendekati teman-teman dan komunitas muslim yang ada di Philadelphia. Dengan 'open minded' yang ditanamkan orang tuaku, aku mulai meneliti fakta-fakta yang bisa membuktikan kebenaran nilai-nilai Islam, agar aku bisa secara objektif bisa membandingkan opini media massa Islam dengan pengalaman pribadiku.
Waktu itu aku masih mahasiswa, dan tempat pertama yang aku jadikan tempat mencari informasi tentang Islam adalah lewat internet.Dan aku menemukan situs khusus yang ditujukan untuk orang-orang Non Muslim yang ingin mengenal Islam.Dari internet, aku menemukan informasi yang memuat artikel tentang dasar-dasar keyakinan dan ajaran amaliah yang harus diterapkan orang Muslim. Topik yang lebih mendalam tentang Tuhan, Nabi-nabi-Nya, Kitab-kitab-Nya, Hari Kiamat dan lain-lain aku telaah dengan serius.
Dari toko buku setempat aku juga membeli kitab Qur'an dan pelan-pelan mulai belajar membaca dan menelaah isinya, tentu saja dengan bantuan teman-teman yang aktif di masjid setempat.Ada sesuatu yang aku rasakan meresap ke relung hatiku setelah menelaah Qur'an. Dan aku mulai intensif berdiskusi dengan para aktivis masjid... Sampai pada musim panas 2002, akhirnya aku mengikrarkan dua kalimat syahadat, dan komunitas muslim setempat sangat memberikan kontribusi besar bagi kehidupan baruku sebagai seorang mualaf...
